Virtual Exchange with York University Canada 2024-25

19 Jun 2024

Economics Bachelor students can apply now! The course counts as a virtual exchange allowing students to earn credits for their studies.

In the academic year 2024/25, we again offer a virtual journal club with the economics department of York University, Canada.

During the virtual journal club, students complete weekly academic and general-audience readings on topics rotating across different subfields of microeconomics. Topics are very broad covering the effects of legalized abortion, social inequality, trade and health issues and much more. In addition, we actively study the production of knowledge in the economic sciences. Students will exchange ideas and reflections on the readings through an online discussion forum and in joint video conferences. Students should have a broad interest in microeconomics and should be willing to actively discuss the provided readings. The instructors provide context for the readings, guide students’ analyses, challenge their perspective, and provide friendly and constructive feedback on the students’ communication. For a final project in February-April 2025, students work in intercultural teams and learn about writing processes. The course counts as a virtual exchange allowing students to earn credits for their studies.
