Prof. Christopher Roth receives 2026 Hermann Heinrich Gossen Prize

17 Sept 2026

The Verein für Socialpolitik honors his outstanding and innovative research at the intersection of behavioral economics, macroeconomics, political economy, and psychology.

We are delighted to congratulate Christopher Roth on receiving the 2026 Hermann-Heinrich-Gossen-Preis!

The Hermann-Heinrich-Gossen-Preis is awarded annually to an economist from the German-speaking region whose research has gained international recognition, with particular consideration given to publications in internationally recognized journals.

We are especially excited to welcome Christopher to the LMU Faculty of Economics this October and look forward to the research and new ideas he will bring to our academic community.

With Christopher joining us, the faculty will be home to eight current and former recipients of the Hermann-Heinrich-Gossen-Preis—a wonderful reflection of the strength of economics at LMU.

Congratulations, Christopher!
