Every year, the Student Association of Economics (Wasti e.V.) in cooperation with the Faculty of Economics invites all students to the Nobel Prize Lecture in Economic Sciences at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. The event aims at giving insight into the work of the laureates and different economic research fields.
This year, the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel 2025 was awarded to Joel Mokyr, Philippe Aghion and Peter Howitt "for having explained innovation-driven economic growth" with one half to Joel Mokyr “for having identified the prerequisites for sustained growth through technological progress” and the other half jointly to Philippe Aghion & Peter Howitt “for the theory of sustained growth through creative destruction”.
